Open Water Swims Underway!

Once again, Peluso Open Water has invited RTC members to swim for FREE with their coaches on alternating Fridays beginning April 11. And new this year: RTC will be providing adult beverages and snacks after the swims on the first Friday swim of the month! Relax and get to know other club members after a great workout.

Peluso Open Water specializes in open water swim training for triathletes, so this is your opportunity to be coached by local experts to prepare you for your next open water tri or swim race. You must be able to tread water and swim 100 yards without stopping to participate.

All swims take place at a private boat ramp in Tarrington near Robious Landing (directions, address in the link at the bottom). The swims start at 6 pm with a river condition briefing, safety precautions and details of the evening's workout. For safety reasons, once the swim has started, no one will be allowed to enter the water. Wetsuits are not required, but may be desirable depending on your tolerance to cold. Please bring a brightly colored swim cap and goggles.

Registration not required, but club memberships will be validated: just bring up your membership card on your phone or print it out and present it at check-in. Guests are welcome for a $15 drop in fee.

Sometimes Mother Nature can be unpredictable, but if we know the swim is going to be cancelled before we are at the boat ramp, we will post an announcement on the RTC and POW websites as well as both Facebook and Twitter pages. If you don't see an announcement, a decision has not been made so assume the swim is on. No need to call/text/email event organizers.

Free Swim Dates: alternating Friday's starting April 11 - no swim on July 4. Swim distance will increase as the season progresses. Directions, OWS calendar and river conditions can be found on the POW website, link below.

FREE Bicycle Maintenance Clinic

Join us for this free bicycle maintenance clinic presented by the mechanics at Endorphin Fitness. During this clinic, you will learn the basics of bicycle maintenance including how to clean and maintain your bicycle as well as prevent and change a flat tire. Free & open to all but you must register. Spots limited.
